Settlement Services
Settlement services are offered to newcomers, refugees, and immigrants to assist them in their settlement process and facilitate their access to available resources. Rexdale Women's Centre offers services in 18 different languages to newcomers, immigrants and refugees at various locations throughout the City of Toronto.
Needs Assessment and Referral
Needs Assessment and Referral helps newcomers access the programs and services they need to settle in their community and assess their needs across a broad spectrum of settlement areas, helps newcomers make informed settlement-related decisions, and identifies their short and long-term settlement goals.
Services are Available in the Following Languages:
Our staff speak Arabic, Assyrian, Bosnian, Croatian, Dari, English, Farsi, French (upon request), Gujarati, Hindi, Pashto, Persian, Punjabi, Somalian, Spanish, Tamil, Twi, and Urdu. Please contact our office to connect with a worker who can assist you in your language.
Services Include:
Information and Orientation
Information and Orientation services provide newcomers with essential knowledge and guidance to navigate their new environment effectively and facilitate their integration into the community.
Interpretation and Translation
We offer linguistic support to our service users to facilitate effective communication and understanding between newcomers and various service providers, aiding in their integration into the community.
Form Filling
We assist newcomers in completing necessary paperwork and documentation, including Immigration, Citizenship, PR Card renewal, OW, Child Tax Benefit and more.
Referral to Community Resources
We facilitate clients' integration into the community by guiding them to local services and support networks through referrals, addressing their specific needs.
Citizenship Test Preparation
We support newcomers to prepare for their citizenship test. We cover all relevant topics, provide study materials, practice tests, and guidance to help them navigate the citizenship process smoothly.
Citizenship Test and Oath Online
We provide access to technology and support individuals throughout the process of taking their online citizenship test and participating in the citizenship oath ceremony.
Short-term Councelling Support
We offer immediate assistance and facilitate to individuals facing urgent and distressing situations, ensuring their safety and providing resources to address their immediate needs.
Mental Health Support
Taking care of your mental well-being is essential when adapting to a new country. Participate in our mental wellness groups for various topics related to mental health and wellbeing support.
