RWC is dedicated to supporting immigrant, refugee and newcomer women and their families, and selected Singh after an extensive search process. Her appointment marks a new chapter for the organization, building on its long-standing commitment to empowering women in the community.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jyoti Singh as our new Executive Director," said Sabina Filipescu, President of the RWC’s Board of Directors. We are confident that under Jyoti's guidance, RWC will continue to grow and enhance its vital services to the community."

Singh brings over 20 years of experience providing leadership in community-based programming and policy administration. Her background includes a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration from Carleton University. Her leadership approach prioritizes trust, transparency, and collective empowerment.

"I am honoured to join Rexdale Women's Centre and to continue its crucial work," said Singh. "As a voracious advocate for immigration, housing and Gender-Based and Intimate Partner Violence Reform, I look forward to lending my voice to the mission and vision of RWC and am committed to leveraging my experience and passion to bridge service gaps, utilize resources effectively, and foster strong community connections. Together, we will work tirelessly to empower women, promote equity, and create positive change in our community."

Singh's appointment follows the retirement of the organization's long-standing Executive Director. The Board of Directors extends its heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Saadia Akram-Pall, who served as Interim Executive Director during the transition period. Dr. Akram-Pall’s steady leadership and dedication ensured the continuity of the Centre’s essential services and programs during this critical time.
