Youth Services

Rexdale Women's Centre - Youth Hub

Rexdale Women's Centre Youth Hub opened its doors to the community in July 2017. The RWC-YH was established to serve the needs of youths residing in central and north Etobicoke.

At the RWC-Youth Hub, our vision is to provide resources for all youth and to connect settled citizens with newcomer youth. The Youth Hub provides homework help, one-on-one counselling, newcomer settlement support, career-education networking, a range of after-school programs, recreational activities and volunteering opportunities and community service for high school graduation. We believe in addressing the needs of youth and building a responsive and inclusive environment by acting on emerging community needs and respecting diversity by promoting access to local services and opportunities.

After School Programs

This program is available for all youth ages 12-25. It is an opportunity to engage in recreational activities, learn more about health and wellness and participate in workshops about life skills. We also offer girls' and boys' groups providing support with homework and workshops. Youth cultivate their leadership skills at the Youth Council meetings. Snacks and beverages are provided throughout the program.

Supports for Youth

Rexdale Women's Centre provides assistance with resume building, form filling and other tools to help with career and employment opportunities. For newcomer youth we offer English Conversation Circles, Movie Night and Cooking Clubs. Health and wellness workshops are conducted.

Supportive Counselling

In a welcoming and safe environment, youth are provided with help and support with one-on-one counselling for youth that are facing barriers and hardships. Youth Counsellors are available to listen and assist where needed. Services also include providing information and referrals to community services and programs.

Settlement - Orientation Support

In a welcoming and safe environment, youth are provided with help and support with settlement and orientation support to Canada. Our staff will assist newcomer youth to navigate systems and services which facilitate their settlement and resettlement in Canada.
