Preschool Program

The Preschool program provides structured early learning activities for children from 2 to 5 years of age whose parents are registered and attending English as a Second Language classes with the Rexdale Women's Centre. The program assists children to ease into kindergarten classes with little or no anxiety.

School Readiness

The School Readiness program provides children from 2 to 6 years of age, who are new to the country, with opportunities to develop language skills, early literacy, and creativity, cognitive, sensory and motor skills, to help them succeed in the school system. Parents accompany their children to the program, and learn about their child's development needs as well as acquiring new skills themselves or brush up on existing skills.

Care for Newcomer Children (CNC)

In order to assist newcomer families in accessing and benefiting from services, the Rexdale Women's Centre offers Occasional Child care by providing safe supervision. The program is for children from 19 months to 14 years of age. Children attend the program while parents participate and benefit from services. Rexdale Women's Centre believes that children must have the opportunity to explore and develop in a caring, safe and stimulating environment. The program provides activities that foster creativity, curiosity, independence, interaction, communication and respect for others.
