Many of the Rexdale Women's Centre's clients do not have the financial resources to purchase toys for thier children, especially during the holiday season. And having a special meal is sometimes difficult to arrange. On an annual basis, the Rexdale Women's Centre and our clients are fortunate to receive support from individuals, corporations, businesses and schools, universities and colleges for their generous donations of food, toys and cash during the holiday season.

In June 2008, the Rexdale Women's Centre celebrated our 30th anniversary. Since 1978 the Rexdale Women’s Centre has been a viable and dynamic organization in north Etobicoke. The celebration commemorated our continued dedication to service delivery and support to the community.

The day’s events included a spirited parade of staff and community members, amazing cultural performances and fun activities such as face painting for the children. Delicious cake and foods were served and honored speakers spoke about the Rexdale Women’s Centre’s role in the community.

The memorable anniversary celebration marked a milestone in our organization’s history, where our outstanding work was recognized and the community’s strong support ensured our continued success.
